Cindy Lou Scrivner is an illustrator and designer who is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Scientific Illustration at California State University, Monterey Bay. Cindy holds a Master of Arts degree in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Cindy primarily works in watercolor, as she finds this challenging and complex medium the perfect vehicle to portray her botanical and nature-inspired illustrations. Her artistic inspiration comes from her love of the specific intricacies of science and the mysterious workings of nature.
Cindy is fascinated by the exquisite colors, shapes, textures and details of organic forms; such as flowers, plants, fruits, vegetables and small creatures. Ironically, she is allergic to most furry animals and pollinating plants. Perhaps, that makes them all the more intriguing to attempt to capture on paper.
